{newborn} Lucas Shawn

​I am completely honored to share the photos of this little angel: Lucas Shawn. He may have been a little late coming into this world, but he (and mom, Michelle) made sure he was ready and prompt for his photo shoot in the sewing room of Michelle’s house. The room, with its light blue walls and beautiful warm light, was the perfect place to capture this brand new, tiny human. Despite being fed three times during the shoot, Lucas remained wide-eyed and curious throughout the entire session. He wanted to make sure his personality and adorable facial expressions were evident in every picture.

Infants have a special way of displaying simple perfection, and that is exactly what I tried to capture in these photos. His tiny, wrinkly feet…his miniature hands and ears... and his puckered lips were all the elements needed to catch the most precious moments of Baby Lucas. Michelle agreed and was very specific in what she envisioned for this shoot. With the exception of a couple of props, including Lucas’ adorable cousin, Dominic, she didn’t want any over-the-top, ornate, excessive photos. The natural, uncomplicated snap shots of her and her little man are absolutely breathtaking.

We had so much fun doing this shoot and laughed until our stomachs hurt. I have known Michelle for most of her life; she is more of a sister to me than a friend. After a few hours of witnessing the most intimate time between her and her son, I have never seen her more beautiful and intuitive.
