{newborn} Julian Joseph
Julian…Juju Bee. There is nothing more pure, more peaceful, more precious than a sleeping newborn. The amount of emotions that arose as I walked into Riss and Stephen’s house that morning are inexplicable. Our original plan was to visit the weekend before; however, Evelyn was sick and we didn’t want to be around everyone, especially Julian. My patience was wearing thin and I truthfully was jumping out of my skin to meet my new nephew. The first person I saw was my sister and I couldn’t hold back running to her, squeezing her for a long amount of time (as we do), and expressing how proud I am of her and how much I love her. Just a few weeks after giving birth to another perfect little boy on August 17th, she looked more beautiful than ever.
Jordan was alert and so ready to see his big cousins Chris, James, and Evelyn, and soon the house was no longer quiet and peaceful. The happy tears continued as I walked into the living room and saw the tiniest, cutest little man all snuggled in his blanket, sleeping. He was so content; his little lips were moving with his small breaths and his mini fists were resting above his head.
Riss asked me to bring my camera to take some pictures, but I already had it packed in my car, along with cards and donuts and little toys the kids wanted to bring to Jordan and their new cousin. To say we were all ecstatic is an understatement.
These pictures came out beautifully and the day spent with all of us was so fulfilling and priceless. I loved taking pictures of Julian. Jordan was such a proud big brother and his little dimples were showing the whole time, beaming with love. Pictures are captured so easily with the affection and happiness that are so natural. My favorite part of this whole day was holding Julian for hours. The feeling of his little body all squished comfortably in my arms, and watching Chris, James, and Evelyn look at him with such admiration and awe. After a long nap, Julian was awake and showing off his big blue eyes. He definitely heard all the playing going on around him. Seeing the kids running around, playing together would seem like chaos, but was the most joyful sight and sound ever.
Julian is the newest bundle of love in our family. We are so blessed and we cannot wait to watch him grow and become a part of the wild crew running around the house. I love you guys so much…beyond words.
