{family} The Dwyer Family
July. Summer. Beach. Vacation...and some amazing family photos. I truly love photoshoots, not only because I love taking pictures, but because I get to meet, know and capture some pretty wonderful families. The Dwyers, Vanics, and Roccis are the epitome of wonderful. Amy and Kevin are great friends of ours. I had the honor of photographing their son’s Communion photos a few months ago. When Amy asked if I would take pictures of her and her sister’s family, I instantly was filled with excitement. The week we decided on was early in July when we (Amy’s family and my family) would be down the shore for our family vacations. What made this even more special was that Amy’s mom, Diane, would also be a part of the pictures.
I adore Amy for so many reasons. It was no surprise that Diane, her sister, Rebecca, and her family were just as kind and easy-going as Amy is. The four kids looked adorable, in matching outfits and combed hair. They all instantly gave off vacation-vibes when we met on the beach with easy smiles and enthusiasm. We quickly determined we would use the jetties, ocean and the dunes as some areas to set up the pictures. The sun was bright in the late afternoon and there was a breeze that kept everyone cool.
Amy had given me some ideas of pictures the family wanted to ensure I took beforehand. It was a priority of mine to be mindful of the time as I knew it was creeping up on the kids’ bedtime, and I know that after a long day on the beach on vacation, kids can crash pretty hard and quickly.
We had a great shoot! I was able to take all of the pictures Amy and Rebecca wanted to get, and also was able to capture some candid photos as well.
Amy and Kevin and their two sons are so much fun to photograph. Their kids have so much personality which shines through in their pictures. They are always so respectful as well and love coming up with fun and unique ideas for pictures which I love hearing and going along with!
Rebecca and Joe are so sweet. Their two girls are adorable--their giggles, contagious and the innocence of their happiness also show in these pictures. What also made this extended family photoshoot so special was their Mimi, Amy and Rebecca’s mother. It was evident how much she loves her daughters and her grandchildren.
What these pictures convey is everything natural: the natural element of being at the beach...the sunlight and wind and crashing/spray of the ocean-the smiles and laughter and comfort of being with family on vacation. I hope Amy, Diane, and Rebecca and their families enjoy these beautiful pictures for years to come and I am always so honored to have the opportunity to photograph them. You guys are awesome!
