{family} The Burland Family

It may have been a last minute scheduled photoshoot, but everything worked out perfectly with the Burland family. With the simplistic idea of getting a few family pictures of their adorable family, the hour spent with Kristina, Brendan, Shelby, and their dog, Callie, was easy-going and so enjoyable. Originally, we planned on meeting at Villanova, which is a very short distance from their house, but the weather was not reliable so we resorted to Plan B. This ended up being just as wonderful because in their home, I was able to capture the true, candid nature of their family. Shelby, Brendan and Kristina’s two-year old daughter, kept us entertained the whole time. She was watching Finding Nemo when I got to their house on Sunday morning, dressed adorably in a blue dress and yellow sweater. Her blond hair was pulled back in a bow; she was picture-perfect matching mommy and daddy and was excited to share with me her toys. She was very insistent on where we took the pictures and even told us when to take a break. In between posing with mom and dad, Shelby played with her tea set and showed me all of her beautiful bows. She is the sweetest little girl and her bubbly personality was such a pleasure to get to know and photograph. There was so much love evident between the three of them. Brendan and Shelby had a blast giggling in their living room and Kristina and Shelby ran around the backyard, playing a game of hide and seek.

This is my favorite kind of photoshoot. There were no extra props needed, just the every day joy between a beautiful family. With the holidays approaching, it was clear that Brendan and Kristina just wanted to freeze a few precious moments between their family of three in the comfort of their own home. It was a fulfilling morning and the natural photos I was able to take of the Burland family are so lovely, just like their family.
