{newborn} The Fairlie Family
New house...New baby! Congratulations to the Fairlie family on their baby girl, Reagan! Easy Sunday morning came, and I couldn’t wait to meet this little munchkin. I walked into Trish and Todd’s new house for the first time and was greeted by Reese, Reagan’s older sister, and Blitz, their gigantic Saint Bernard. Trish was just finishing up Reagan’s feed in their living room which was cooly decorated in all whites, blues, and grays, Reese was anxiously awaiting Chris’s arrival, and Todd was appropriately downstairs in the ‘man cave.’ Completely relaxed and natural, Trish and I talked and caught up a little bit about Reagan’s grand entrance into the world and a little bit about what pictures and ideas they had for the shoot.
Of the many things I admire about Trish and her family, being laid back and easy-going are certainly a few. The sun was coming out and the big windows and back door let in the perfect amount of light for the pictures. I loved that Trish and I took a minute to look around the room for some props to use-it was that easy. Just a string of flowers, a book, and some matching outfits..and that was it. To be honest, that was all that was needed for this beautiful family. I am a firm believer that less is more, and the simplicity of these photos is what makes them so perfect. The Fairlie’s pictures are clean and authentic, which makes me laugh at the chaos that was going on behind the camera. True to life with a newborn and two five year olds running around (enter Blitz as well), the outfit changes, bribes, laughs, and toys were all part of the fun that brought out the genuine smiles in the pictures.
Though Reagan was in a “milk coma,” she wanted to stay awake for her first photoshoot, showing off her adorable features and big blue eyes. She was so unbelievably calm, only getting a little fussy towards the end of our hour. Her alertness at just a week old was amazing. Reese is a little beauty as well; and the girls (including mom) were perfectly matched in white and blue: the same hues of their living room and the colors of EA. She was so proud to be pictured with her little sister and is already a wonderful role model. Holding her, soothing her, and even reading to her sister, Reese created so many precious moments to photograph. Taking the pictures of Reese and Reagan before any other pictures was the best thing to do, because after the photos, Reese had a great time in her big backyard splashing in puddles and driving her Hot Wheels car around!
Making sure to get some cute moments with the sisters and a prized photo for Todd’s office at EA (with a football, of course), I was also able to also get a few pictures with Trish and her baby girl, as well as some candid moments with the family and of just Reagan. She is cute beyond words and the love that was so evident shows in the pictures. With all the beauty and awe that surrounds them, the Fairlie family is glowing. I am so honored to have taken these pictures for them; memories that will hang on their walls (matching their living room), will be framed in their offices to bring happiness and will be looked at for years to come. Congratulations to their perfect, growing family!
