{family} The Comer Family

If anyone wants to take notes on how to get a toddler to behave, say cheese on cue, model like a little GQ, and make taking family photos as easy as Sunday morning, then contact Esther and Ulick Comer.

It was one of those last minute, scheduled the morning of, photoshoots that couldn’t have gone more perfectly. The sun was shining bright despite the chilly morning and the Comer’s backyard was illuminated with so many autumn nooks just begging to be photographed. They recently moved into their new house and their backyard was one of the first projects they conquered. When I got to their house, Aidan was helping his mom write out a “Tis the Season” sign. I think he was happy to see me, though the first thing he asked for was his friends, Chris and James (it’s fine, I get it all the time and am use to it!). Esther went inside and I showed Aidan some pictures I took of his best friends earlier that morning. Seeing them on my camera made him excited to get his pictures taken too, and instantly the two of us were running all over the backyard: Aidan naturally hamming it up, and me capturing his cuteness. We laughed and made up silly things to say instead of “cheese,” like “banana muffins” and “potato monsters.” This continued until Esther and Ulick came out ready for the family pictures. Posing together and being organically candid, the Comers lit up each frame beautifully. Whether under their yellow trees, against their rustic fence, or standing near Ulick’s guitar listening to Aidan play, the smiles they clad were genuine and the laughter frozen in the pictures was contagious. Ironically, I am still working on getting my own family to cooperate and take some pictures we will forever have as memories…so Es, I am also taking notes from you guys!
